Tumukende Bryan, a 40 year old resident of Entebbe is a former teacher at a primary School whose services were terminated without a fair hearing in 2015.
He attempted to seek justice from the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development but was not helped. In 2016, he shared his issue with a friend who advised him to seek legal aid at PLA. When he came to PLA, mediation was called with his former employer who refused to show up.
The case was then referred to industrial court and the employer agreed to pay him 1.3 million shillings in lieu of unfair termination. The payment was received in March 2019. The client hopes to use the money to process his paper work to go abroad and look for greener pastures. He is very grateful to PLA for helping him get justice after he had lost all hope.
